Chester Netball Club was founded by Pam Lucas in 1982. There were originally only 4 members with the main being to play social Netball. The team quickly grew and they entered a tournament that year which they won. With this victory came the drive to play more competitive matches and the idea of social netball quickly transitioned into competitive netball and Chester Netball Club began to enter local leagues.
Chester Netball Club grew very quickly and there are now over 350 Junior members and 60 Senior members.
The club is the largest and most successful in the area and provides a great opportunity for girls of all ages to be involved in sport. Teams still compete in local leagues both at Junior and Senior level but they have also advanced into national competitions with teams competing in the County, Regional and National Leagues.
Chester Netball Club was a finalist for the Cheshire West and Chester Council Club of the Year in 2010 and Pam Lucas was the winner of the Murial McNally Award for Services to Netball.
