PLAYERS COMPETE IN NATIONAL PERFORMANCE TOURNAMENT
20th September 2021

Five of Chester’s bright young stars competed in the National Performance League annual tournament. The tournament brings the best young players in the country to play against one another.

Ruth Hughes played for Wasps U19, Millie Veevers for Manchester Thunder U17, Megan Perry for Yorkshire U17 and Ellie Begley and Megan Garreh for Wales U17 squad.

Chester team mates; Millie and Megan’s teams played against one another in the U17 final. Millie played most games at WD for Thunder and Megan played WD, C and WA and was vice captain for Yorkshire. After a tough match, Thunder finished as tournament winners, beating Yorkshire 32-23. Wales had a great tournament with both Ellie and Meg getting plenty of court time. They played against Team Bath for 5th/6th position and after a very tense and hard-fought game, ended up beating them 29-26. Wasps U19 finished 7th overall with Ruth playing C for them for most games.

We are very proud of these players and this shows that their hard-work is paying off.

Well done! We look forward to seeing you develop further this season.
