Code of Conduct
As a member of Chester Netball Club you are expected to follow the Club's Code of Conduct. Please note that the coaches will enforce a disciplinary procedure of "three official warnings and you're out" for players who repeatedly break club rules, do not turn up to training or matches without letting anyone know or who are rude or abusive - we have waiting lists at most junior age groups of keen netballers waiting to fill their place.
At Training and Matches
- Regularly attend and work hard at training sessions, "a player who fails to train is training to fail".
- Always inform coaches or team managers if you are unable to attend training and keep them informed of your availability for matches.
- Arrive at matches early enough to warm up.
- Don't ignore aches and pains - if you are injured, or think you are, tell your coach or team manager.
- Always warm down after training and matches.
- Come to training with a positive attitude, listen and follow the coaches instruction, be prepared to except praise and criticism alike.
- Be a good sport. Applaud good play for both teams.
- Respect your opponents, without them you don't have a game.
- Treat other players how you would like to be treated.
- Don't criticise or remonstrate with your team mates - every player has off days.
- Make new players welcome.
- Never argue with an umpire. If you have a query, ask your captain or coach to approach the umpire at half time in a calm and courteous manner to get clarification.
- At the end of a match shake hands with your opponents and give three cheers. Thank the umpire, coach and team manager.
- Pay your match and training fees on time.
